How to cite:

When you publish manuscripts based on data generated at our facility, we would greatly appreciate an acknowledgment of our efforts. Please cite our facility as follows (for example): “Library preparation and sequencing were performed at the University of Illinois at Chicago Sequencing Core (UICSQC).” We adhere to a general policy for acknowledgments and authorship as established by the Association for Biomolecular Resource Facilities (ABRF), and we support the following statement from the ABRF: "The existence of core facilities depends in part on proper acknowledgment in publications. This is an important metric of the value of most core facilities. Overview of Sequencing Core



The University of Illinois at Chicago, Center for Genomic Research - Sequencing Core strives to support your research efforts by providing access to equipment, technical and scientific expertise, and rapid sample analysis at a reasonable price. In addition to providing technical services, our staff and director are happy to provide advice on choosing proper reagents, training on self-use instrumentation, and on developing the right technical and scientific approach for the analysis of your samples. We will endeavor to provide you with access to the newest technologies and with the resources to analyze your data. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us. We also have a freezer program with reagents and consumables for reverse transcription and qPCR (see the item list under "Freezer Program"). We work with IDT company to provide free shipping for oligo synthesis (see under "Oligos" for more information). We are happy to assist in research studies as well as conducting larger scale projects. We are integrated with the UIC Genomics Core (GMC; Dr. Zarema Arbieva, and the UIC Research Informatics Core (RIC; Dr. Mark Maienschein-Cline,


Hours of Operation

Regular business hours for the DNA Services Facility are 8:30 A.M. to 4:30 P.M. Monday - Friday. Between 11:30 A.M. and 2:30 P.M. is half an hour lunch break (the exact time varies depending on how busy it is, so please call ahead if you will need assistance).


Scientific Storeroom

Our freezers are located at the Sequencing Core (A-310 CMWT).
